Hey all, I am planning on refinishing my cabinets with a hvlp sprayer. Looking at the fuji semi pro 2.  Anyone have any recommendations on if this is a good fit for a beginner (no spray experience) or is there a better choice? Thank you in advance

The Fuji systems are quite good.  I first learned to spray about 8 years ago when I did the exact same thing you're doing - bought a Fuji system to finish kitchen cabs.  As you probably know, the distinguishing spec of HVLP turbines is their number of stages - the more the better and the more pressure the turbine can put out.  For thin clear coatings, even a two stage can work.  But as the coatings get thicker, pigments are added, etc....you really need at least a 3 stage turbine to properly atomize the finish.  So I would skip the 2-stage you linked.

What products are you planning to spray?

Personally I would step up at least to the Minimite 3 (or 4 or 5, budget allowing and pending your response about what you want to spray).  You get a T series gun (T70 or T75G depending on your preference for bottom feed or gravity) with those systems which is a bit better gun than the M model.

EDIT:  Just saw your other post about wanting to use SW KA+ and related products.  You'll probably need a 4 stage for those.

Fuji is what I have been looking at too. 4 stage. Sign up for the mailing list and wait for a coupon from AcmeTools.com as they sell Fuji and send out 15%-20% off coupons a couple times a year. Best deal youll find on one other than maybe used.

This may be more directed at Ben than the OP, but Amazon has the Minimite 5 with T75G (2805-t75g) 20% off right now.  $800 is a killer deal for that system IMHO.

I found a used Capspray 9900 5 stage.... Is this a good machine for cabinets? 250 bucks
