Also I think because the maps on Google or the other apps are constantly updated.
That Nav system in your vehicle uses static maps that you have to pay to get the
updates for, at least that's what Ford wants for each of our three vehicles all with
the same version of maps loaded. Chevy is the same to update the Nav in one of
their cars. And a previous vehicle I had with the Clarion AutoPC Radio/Nav/CD system
was the same, pay $99 for the updates every year or however often you want them.

Best would be let me send my phone screen to the car display, work everything from
there and be done with it.
 
Bosch already has a laser measurer with BT connectivity that will download into a computer or an app.  Don't think it links with any tools though.

Can I order a car without all those features ?  Don't think so. Nor can I order one without pushbutton start.  Guess I'm just a wild card. Decades ago when I wanted hands free I had to go to an aftermarket shop and pray Motorola or Nokia had a box that would allow hands free for the phone I used. And leave the car for two days while the I terror was pulled apart. When I asked the car makers about integrating it they said there just wasn't enough demand.

The manuf. navi systems are usually out of date when they deliver, and many are hard and expensive to update. 
 
I get the associative connection but how about we keep this topic on track to provide feedback, find out info, and take interest (or not, readers choice) in the OPs ideas.

I think the OP has some interesting original thoughts...the mitre saw integration scenario rather reminds me of the Shaper issue. Same process...just a different twist.

These discussions then necessarily lead to what's the next electronic/mechanical connectivity issue for woodworking?

Here's some feedback.  Slapping SYS in front of a common word by non-festool companies is now off putting to me.  You're an inventor, invent a name as creative as you perceive your ideas to be.

I like the auto-measure concept however I think it would really steer towards the rough carpenter.  For cabinet making I find I frequently make adjustments (or fine tune) as I fit pieces.  I rarely cut 10 parts at a time.  When I do, they're usually duplicates of a board I dialed in.  Now my history - I'm a CNC machinist so I get the concept of repeatability.  I'm just skeptical that, should I be able to implement it in my workflow, it could be made durably enough to maintain the accuracy I want at a price tag that is affordable/not out of this world.

The  van rack - concepts that I find intriguing are ones that resonate.  I want to find a way to make them work for me when they do.  I agree with previous comments - it's awkward, heavy, looks like a gift bag (not of trade taste), and wouldn't be easily brought on and navigated around a site.  The concept doesn't scale - for the number of Systainers most bring on site, it would require having 3 of them...in a mini-van.  I could see this feature in a box truck that doesn't have a lift-gate.

Concept Presentation Timing - I'd probably wait until the prototype is further along before I elicit feedback.  Your saw fence is essentially MDF and we're required to dream your dream with you.  Not everyone can see it and some will move on without even trying.

Demonstration Pics - We're guessing how the van lift works because the pictures don't really show it well which can create challenges getting your design to resonate.  My .02 - treat your posts as early ads.
