I just received a CT26, and am confused about the hose

Hi,
I just received a new CT26 Dust Extractor and am a bit confused by the end of the hose.

It is a firm rubbery material with a bayonet type connector molded into it.

I also bought a ETS EC 150/3 EQ Compact Brushless Finish Sander and a Festool 492392 CT Cleaning Accessory Set of 3 nozzles.

The hose seems to be able to be jammed over the outlet of the sander, and seems to be able to be jammed into the outlet of the nozzles.

Is the hose equipped for multi purpose use or do I need to buy some extra accessory adapting couplers?

Perhaps I am being overly cautious and over thinking the issue. I can't find any specific info about making the connections. All the videos and pictures I have found show and older traditional slip fit design being used.

The style of fitting I am speaking about is described by Festool as a "CLEANTEC - Integrated bayonet fitting as the connecting element between the extractor and the tool."

It looks cool, and in general I appreciate the function of bayonet fittings, but it doesn't seem like my new Festool sander, older TS75, or new accessory nozzles have anything to do with a bayonet connection system.

This request for info is not a "troll". I live in a tiny rural town, 120 miles form the nearest Walmart, and several hundred miles from a woodworking store that displays Festool products. I didn't make the time to travel to a place where I could ask these questions in a face to face setting so I am learning the details as I unpack the new tools.

My TSC55 has the newer style bayonet connector. I t ensures the hose does not separate from the saw during use.

For my sanders and other tools it's a slip fit just as you describe. On the cleaning set it fits inside the end of the wand and all the tools.

In short, you're doing it right, not to worry.

My CT Midi has the bayonet fitting. So does my Rotex 90. My TS55 has the older connector and the (27mm) hose connector slides in. Same with the cleaning kit. I'm surprised to hear that the relatively new ETS EC doesn't have the newer connector but tbh many people don't even like it and the older style squeeze fit works fine, many people here have commented on how it seemed a fix for a non-existent problem.

The hose should work on everything you just described. It is consider a 27mm hose.

The cleaning set will work okay with the little hose, but a 36mm hose is nice to have for cleanup, bigger tools like routers, saws, etc. Also nice to have the 36mm hose be far longer being at least 5m.

The ETS EC sanders were upgraded with a new fitting for the latest models although I don't know the exact date of that upgrade. See photo below for newer type of bayonet fitting. Some people will swear the older fittings are preferable as they don't leak dust when you pull the hose off. Twist locks tend not to fall off as often though.

I misstated the circumstance with the ETS EC 150/3 EQ Compact Brushless Finish Sander. It does indeed have a small bayonet style fitting as mentioned by some and shown in the photo, but the Cleantec bayonet fitting on my hose seems to just slide over the sander's smaller bayonet connector without any bayonet function .

In any event, all the connectors do seem to work together, so I can start learning how to integrate the CT26 into my shop habits.

I liked the bayonet fitting on the 27 mm hose though I recently upgraded to the 36 mm hose and that does not have the bayonet fitting. Generally speaking, the 27 mm hose fits inside  dust ports while the 36 mm hose fits around the outside of the ports. There are one or two exceptions where the 27 mm hose fits on the outside of the port – e.g. my carvex 420 jigsaw and domino cf700 – and in this case, you have to purchase an adapter stepping you down from 36 to 27 mm. This does not have the Bennett fitting either and is a bit of a pain in the butt and has internal threads ??

It is a little bit of a shame that festool  haven’t been consistent with all its newer hoses / connectors and ports etc - but dust extraction once connected is pretty good.
