I make my own labels - Easier to identify tools now

I made my own labels out of exact colors used by festool. green and blue-black. I used 6 year outdoor vinyl and cut them on my high-end summa tangential-steered blade plotter. Everything is a lot easier to read than those little fine-print cards on the containers. From afar I can tell where what tool is now. I labeled them all around on all sides. of the containers. Even on the top. These are individual letters, not one big decal. The masking lays them out. They just peel the backing off and rub into place then pull the masking off. I even did my vacuum.

Here are a few pics:

My wife has a machine that will do this. I will send her your way when she complains of my request to make them for me.  Very nice touch and they look great.

I got my wife’s support. Can you please share the font as well as the vinyl type and color?

Green is RAL 6018 or Pantone 361C

Dark blue is RAL 5004 or Pantone 296C

I spent so much time awhile ago making the font by hand for every letter number of festool. Getting just the right colors of vinyl too. I can't remember it all. I just type it in to my system now and they are processed. The font really takes time to alter. Festool does something extra with all the characters as opposed to the normal font guidelines. I altered vectors and spent a lot of time doing it. It was something I didn't think was worth it, but it is worth it.

The font is a story apart. It is an Italian design, originally called Microgramma (early fifties), which was caps only. Its 'successor', called Eurostile, has an extensive set of glyphs, including lowercase. To confuse everyone, there is also a later version of Microgramma that has an extended set of glyphs too. Plus it has been altered by licensees, such as Letraset, to reflect contemporary taste and such. Which version has been used in the Festool logo I can not tell.

Anyone who has seen some sc-ifi movies and tv-series will be familiar with it. It has been in lots of them. 'Moon' (2009) by David Bowie’s son Duncan Jones, with Sam Rockwell, is a great example. And that also has smilies!  ;)

(BTW There are freeware digital files available for the font, so there is no need to draw it yourself if you do not want to spend money on the official stuff.)

I have a Brother P-Touch and label my Festool Systainers with the 1 inch high labels (always black type with white background).  I use smaller labels for all of my drawers and for organizing within my drawers.  Between the 1 inch 3/4 inch and 1/2 inch labels, things are very well organized.

Certainly those labels are not as nice as yours, not even close, and very nice of you to offer to make them for others for a very reasonable price.
