Hello everyone, I have a Festool Domino DF 500 Q, serial number 498621. I urgently need to replace the carbon brushes on this machine, as I have a small furniture manufacturing business. There is no official Festool representative in Argentina. Could you tell me the specifications (dimensions) of these carbon brushes, or if other brands (DeWall, Makita, etc.) use the same ones? Thank you in advance for your response. Best regards

I have no experience… but the part number appears to be 492629. It looks like Amazon would have them, but maybe a local supplier would be faster. Seems like a common part for many Festool tools… so likely available locally.

Also, have you checked Ebay? I recently bought brushes from a local supplier for my CT36, I found there were loads of sellers for Festool compatible brushes.

As a starting point this one in the Netherlands gives the dimensions as 5mm x 8.5mm x 12.5mm for the DF500:

Thank you very much for information and fast answer.
Best Regards

Question: How did you know you needed to change the DF 500 brushes?
Hi Chucks,
My DOMINO DF500Q,
Question: How did you know you needed to change the DF 500 brushes?
Hi Chucks, My Domino 500 Q sometimes turns on and sometimes it doesn't. When it doesn't turn on, I tap the casing a little and it starts working. I removed the carbon brushes and they're quite worn; instead of 12.5 mm, they're only 8 mm long. Do you think this could be the cause of the turning problem? Thanks in advance for your reply. Best regards (...and sorry for my bad English)

Thx, Marcelo. AI Overview seems to agree with you:

You need to replace Festool Domino DF 500 brushes when you notice performance issues like reduced power, intermittent operation, excessive sparking/smoking, or if the tool won't start, but also visually inspect them for being worn down (less than 1/4 inch), crumbling, or burning; worn brushes can't make proper contact, causing these problems, notes this Festool Owners Group discussion

Festool also do some funky things with their brushes, with a little spring loaded assembly inside the brush (at bottom of pic) that pops out to break contact, yours might almost be at that point.
