I Think My Dremel 395 Just Died - Replacement Recs?

Been wire brushing a bunch of parts with my old corded Dremel and it started sounding strange and then just stopped. Thought it might be the breaker, no. Maybe the brushes? Nope. Maybe it needs to cool down? Maybe in an hour I'll check.

But I think the Dremel has given up the ghost. If I have to replace it, what is a good replacement?

Thanks!

If the budget allows I'd go for something along the lines of a Foredom rotary tool (or even try a Vevor one, looks similar'ish), the're a massive step up and I love mine, heaps of grunt and will happily run all day. I've even got a carving head and cutter set for mine!

Failing that I'd buy another Dremel in a heartbeat, they're the best of that class of tool in my opinion.

But I'd probably recommend steering clear of the Proxxon tools. They're beautifully engineered, but the duty cycle renders them almost useless in most work shops except for very quick jobs.

Thanks luv - the dremel died at 7p my time and after some quick online searches at the local box stores, it seemed that the best solution in the moment was to run to what we call Harbor Freight and pickup this cheap grinder/rotary tool - mainly so I could continue working on the project.

It’s an okay tool and does the job while shaking the s out of your hand, which quite sucked, but I was able to get all the parts brushed and ready, so jo
momentum lost.

If it does the job in a pinch that's what matters. If you use one much though you'd love the Foredom style, extremely little vibration on the hands with them.
