I visited an old project today.

I was out on a walk today, alternating with bike ride days. It just so happens to go right past a city park building, where I have a couple of projects. These were right at the time of the fire, that I have referenced many times. It was summer of 2019. The reception desk was done and installed. All that was left was the display/trophy case. There were actually three of these, one for each of three locations. I built all of them at once, to be installed as needed, since the other locations were not ready yet. I finished all three on a Friday, that night the entire building was destroyed.
Replacing those three units was first on my list, after moving, building workbenches/storage, and rebuying a bunch of tools. It took a couple of weeks to get going, but just over 30 days later, they were done.
The first pic is also a Friday, I went in to finish the cables/shelves the next day.
The others were today. The desk pic is a bad angle, but I didn't want to get the nice lady in the shot.
Six years later, in a public park, they have held up very well.
Yes, that is my Fat Bike behind them.

Nice work. I enjoy looking at what I've made, that's part of the fun of doing construction and woodworking.

But in my old day job, I did some good work that's still being used around New York State.

We initially built about 10 of those benches. They have since been modified by the end user, in each department.
All of them still exist, 6 years later. Mine had the additional length and end-facing drawer. It is still there now, though I took the top, when I left. I built a similar base too, though I will probably change to a more "woodworking" bench.
It is bigger than I need, for my current needs. I'm not doing the huge commercial jobs anymore.

Thank you. It is always nice to revisit jobs. Many of them are not publicly accessible though. Some are too far away to be bothered, others are in secure locations, etc
Government offices, hospitals, lawyers offices, and of course a residence or 50, are not.
There are plenty of libraries, gas stations, hotels, and a dispensary or two, though. I might get to a few of them, with my new-found time, and some better weather.
