Simple as that. Can they be had without the vac?
Can we come across them here in the states?

And could you imagine paying the shipping cost every time you need abrasives? And then there's the question of whether the model runs on 115V or 230V. And service. And warranty claims. All complicated by the possibility that the dealers in the UK are contractually forbidden from selling outside the UK.
I want one, too. We just had our 90-year-old house checked for lead paint and miraculously the tests were negative, so now I have the green light to sand away all the peeling interior paint! (And there's plenty of that work to be done.) Sure I could buy the Porter-Cable model, but my experience with Festool makes me believe that I'd get a better value from the Planex, even though it's probably three times the price.
Maybe they're available in Mexico. Maybe I'll buy a new Rotex and glue it to a broomstick.
Regards,
John

Well, I tried to order some Festool abrasives from an American website that shipped all over the world, but after filling in all the info the website told me they could ship anything outside the USA, except Festool.
