Ideas for bed frame with drawers/underneath storage?

Does anyone have any good designs (their own or something they've seen online) for a bed frame with substantial drawer storage underneath?  This is the last piece of furniture I need to add to make my master bedroom livable.

I've been searching online for ideas, and it seems like the basic forms are pretty bland -- most of them look Ikea inspired or like rejects from a 70s or 80s model home.  Something about the rectangular forms seems to suck the soul out of the pieces.

Fine Woodworking had a pretty decent plan in the June 2014 issue (No 240).  Built simply but plenty of ways to customize.

Embrace the rectangles.  If you don't use standard sheetgood and lumber dimensions, you could re-inject the soul.

It's like a haiku.
Opportunities sprout from
Restrictions of form.

Good one!!!

I built this bed recently. Mostly Festool tools were used (I believe 95%) .

Now that's really nice!!!  Well done!!!  I especially like the cedar lining for the drawers.

Great job Victor!  Breaking up the visual field with the smaller rectangles on the headboard really does the trick.  At first glance the layout of your room and mine look almost identical as to dimensions and window positioning, so this gives me a good idea of how it will fill the space.  How did you do the corner posts by the way -- solid piece or laminated (was trying to figure out what that black line is running down one of the edges)?

And thanks for the other suggestions -- I'm going to play around with these and try to devise something.

My wife wants the bed to be really high off the ground, so I'll have room for lots of storage, maybe even two rows of drawers.  I've also considered just chucking the platform idea and making a more basic tall frame, and then devising some sort of modular or box-type storage system that could be pulled out from underneath the bed.  It's just so much space underneath that it shouldn't go to waste.

Boards are lamination 3/4" (19mm) walnut, 18mm (3/4") plywood, then 3/4" (19mm) walnut.  Edges covered with 7mm planks, then seam hidden with 1/4" bead.
