Happy Christmas Everyone

I feel really cheeky mentioning this BUT I have put this in the dealer area so I hope that I will not get told off by Shane and the boys...

If you get a Kindle or other type of e-reader and fancy an interesting read then please take a look at my e-book, Stone Message, which is on Amazon. It is only $1.23 and less than £1 in the UK. It is a mystery thriller with a tiny bit of sci-fi and a great twist near the end (it almost sounds like the PSC420 user instructions!). If you do decide to risk your life savings and buy a copy, please leave a review on Amazon as it will help this struggling author. Oh, and if you live next door to a famous movie director or are doing some work in a movie producer's house - please tell them how wonderful the book is - dream on Parfitt, dream on!

Take care.

Oh Peter ... what are you doing ?? Every time I go to Amazon I end up significantly poorer [sad]

So 193 pages ... what's the pace ? Matthew Reilly or a little slower ?

I have a number of "started works" - but I never seem to get them further than the outline and a couple of rough chapters ... congrats on this one. I'll read it over Christmas.

cheers,

(and All the Best to you and your family for Christmas and the New Year)

Kev

Just a thought to others - sending a modestly priced ebook to a Kindle or iPad owner for Christmas is cheaper than posting a Christmas card and gives a lot more enjoyment.

... plus you still have time to send someone an ebook for Christmas  [wink]

Dear Kev

Many thanks - the book has been reviewed both in the UK and the US and (so far) it is getting lots of ticks in the right boxes. Most e-authors spend their spare time on all sorts of literary blogs pushing their books. I took at look at a few of them and found all these people constantly trying to run down their fellow authors and being very mean and catty. Anyway, I much preferred spending my free time on the FOG as I love my woodwork and adore my brilliant Festools.

Happy Christmas.

I looked up your book on Amazon. But I have IPhone or Nook Book. Don't know how to download to put on one of those or if that's possible.

Hi Tim

I am not up to speed with the iPhone but I have a joiner friend on the Isle of Wight who has read my book on his iPhone - and he reviewed it which was kind. So, it can be done but I cannot advise you how - perhaps someone can help....HELP....HELP (JMB is bound to know)

Peter

As mentioned already. Download the app kindle

I don't read lol as i am sure you are all aware off cus of my jmb talk!

But I downloaded the kindle app for my dad on iPad so you can do the same with iPhone.

From Amazon: "He will donate a substantial proportion of the net income from his first e-novel, Stone Message, to charities for wounded military personnel."

-- That is very commendable Peter.  [thumbs up]

Thanks for the help guys. Found the app and got the book downloaded on my Iphone. Looking forward to checking it out.

Peter,

Just curious,

What type of watch does the bad guy wear?
Hi Sancho

By asking that question it makes me think that you are reading the book!

Time is a factor and it is certainly something to watch. I will start dropping some photographs on the thread for interest.

I have made contact with the Wounded Warrior Project in the US. There will be similar arrangements in the UK. A great friend of mine, who spent his life in the US Army, has a son who was badly wounded in Iraq. I remember this young man as a little boy and I know that his folks are finding it tough looking after him at home.

Just finished the book. Now I have nothing to do when the blizzard hits tomorrow. Enjoyed it and I am not one to set down and read, unless its about tools or construction.

Dear Tim

Well done - thanks you so much for reading the book. If you have time, please would you leave a review on Amazon and tell your friends.

I hope that the blizzard causes no damage and that you are all able to get about.

I have attached a photograph of Stonehenge taken from the road. I used to live in Drayton Gardens - and I went to Imperial College!

Thank you again.

I thought I'd resurrect this thread as I've just read Peter Parfitt's book 'Stone Message'.

Peter invited me to have a look at the book after he kindly emailed me some plans for a Kapex stand (very informative to learn about his design strategy btw).

I'll admit that I initially thought I was returning the favour by buying the book (its only 99p!) but actually it was me I was doing a favour as its an excellent book!

Many people on this forum have commented on how talented and helpful Peter is as a woodworking and Festool guru but he is also a very good author.

Go on - give it a go!
