I'm stumped - how do I figure out this angle?

Good to hear you solved your problem.
I have been tempted to draw this since your first posting of this design. I am sure that I will use what I learned here sometime in the future.
Like I said I was curious to see how the software would handle the angles and I wanted to know if I could actually draw this so they fit together.
While Sketchup does force fit and distort the curve at the apex as shown, it would be easy to overlook it if I drew the molding as I usually do.
