I'm glad  ;D that this year we got a real winter in Toronto and I hope that our thick snow cover lasts for another month.

I'm so tired of winter too. But luckily prospects are very good here. The weather is strange though, last friday my ears froze off, today, we had the warmest 5th of march in 100 years. 15 C / 59 F

Yeah, I'm a bit tired of it - as of March 5th we're at 207" total thus far for the season with 35" snow pack currently on the ground.  I suppose I shouldn't complain though since we're far from our 1978/79 record of 390.4"

We just had two days of snowfall over the weekend and a good foot of fresh snow here followed with a lively crisp -24C morning sunshine the other day...

Couldn't be a better spring with taking my son to the hills with his sled!  [wink]

Unfortunately this morning I woke up to a bleak +1C and soggy slushy streets  [sad]

You do have exceptions - I was in DC a few years ago (was it 2000?) when everything stopped and we had to delay our drive to up state Virginia. If I remember it correctly, even the President had a go at the mayor of DC.

We, in the area south of you are not as accustomed to dealing with snow apparently.  [popcorn] I write this as I am sitting in the kitchen watching the snow come down.  The daffodils bloomed last week.  The early fruit trees had buds last week.  We are wackier with our weather than you in Northern VA.  Thunder and heavy rain 20 miles away.  You are having heavy snow.

MacGyver will have a blast later.  The FOG Dog hasn't seen a good snow in quite a while.  Yippee!

It's been a bit of a mild winter here, cold and windy but snow was limited (he says while knocking on wood..) to a couple times with 1/4 overnight melting away in the AM. Very gusty wind (40-50 MPH) right now with rain and 40 degrees.

That said, most Marches I forget it is still winter until the daffodils poke their pretty heads out and get whacked with one more snow storm. On a brighter note, yesterday AM I was driving to Reading PA as I do every couple weeks and noticed it was twilight just before 6:00 AM. I can handle cold/wind/snow but the dark days of winter get me down.

AND - trout season opens April 6th!  [drooling]
