If you're in the area, come to the Woodworking in America show in Cincinnati (technically Convington, KY) today until 6:00pm.  I think me, the missus and the young'un are getting ready to trek it down there. Hope to see a few of you there.  For more information visit the WIA website and get a $2 off admission coupon.

I'm getting ready to head down there myself. Hope to see you there, Shane!

I should mention that I won't be there until around 12:30 or so since we have a bit of a drive.  Hope to see you too, Mike.

Mike, sorry that I missed you. It sounded like you made it there well ahead of me. Lots of people where there considering it was a relatively small show. Rick and Brian were at the Festool booth which had a lot of traffic and had quite the assortment of tools, including the RO 90.  Zac, my youngest who is in my avatar photo, really enjoyed trying it out on some maple.  He went through a handful of grits ending with 400 grit and smiled with pride as he ran his hand across the wood and felt the silky smooth finish. That's my boy!  I took a quick video with the Flip that I'll try to post up later. That sander is going to be an incredible addition to the line up. I can't wait...

PS - This was paradise if you like hand planes. Zac tried out a few at the Lee Valley booth. His technique needs a little work. [big grin]

Sorry I missed you - stopped by the booth a couple of times.  Enjoyed trying out the RO-90.  It does a really nice job and will be excellent for remodeling and close-to-the-edge sanding.  Gotta make room in the stack now!

It was great to see the new vac and C12 as well -

Festool was well represented by Rick and Brian.  Their session on making a frame and panel door was excellent.  And I really enjoyed meeting them after seeing the photos of the classes in Lebanon.

The hand tools from various small makers and the showcase of the woodworkers guild pieces were outstanding.

I had planned to be there, but I have another bad sinus infection. My 5th since the 4th of July. [mad] [mad] [mad] [mad]
Sounds like it was a great show & sorry I missed it.

Sorry to hear that Chris. Thought it was just us non-native Hoosiers who were feeling the effects of all of the corn and soybean harvesting coupled with the lack of rain. I was quite under the weather last week, especially Thursday. My wife is now dealing with it.  Maybe yours isn't allergy related. Hope you're feeling well again very soon.

My allergy has to do with grain, but not totally the ones they are harvesting now.
I have a gluten allergy & I have had to eat away from home more than normal for the past few months.
Between not knowing what is in the food I have been eating, combined with the harvest, I cannot get the sinus infections cleared up.

Very true, Neil, their friendliness, enthusiasm, and product knowledge should make Festool proud.

This is the first time I've seen power tools at the WIA, but Festool (and Rick & Brian) were a very welcome sight.

John, I heard you and Fred were at the Marcou booth. I came by to see if you were there and didn't see either of you. Sorry I missed the opportunity to meet you both in person.

Yeah, I ended up leaving a little after noon. All that walking around and drooling wore me out. I was really impressed with the turnout, as well as all of the offerings on display. Luckily, I've already spent all my money on Festools, so no chances for any impulse buys.  [big grin]

I'm sorry too, Shane. It's incredible that we missed each other. I was at the Marcou booth quite a bit, and Fred almost never left it. I asked about you at the Festool booth on Friday morning, Brian said he thought you were coming but didn't know exactly when. I checked back a couple of times, but no luck.

Oh well. there'll be other times.
