In perpetually being "about to buy an Incra" I looked on their site the other day. They now have a metric based system....maybe I'll finally move over to metric...

Do it.

The sooner you all adopt metric & join the rest of the world, the better  [poke]

Hey Jonny. Quit picking on us poor Yanks. When you all make up your minds over there on measurement standards we will join you!!! Referring to you still measuring driving distance in miles and speed in mph or at least you were last time I was there.  [big grin]  This metric stuff is such a hard sell here. Maybe in my lifetime it will change but doubt it.

switching is easy
straddling two systems irksome

I grew up with feet & inches, but wouldn't do accurate measurements in anything other than metric.

but buying petrol in Litres and travelling in Miles... [huh]
so it's roughly 5L per gallon - but I've given up checking my fuel consumption...

My Incra positioners are the older versions with the tooth rails. Should be able to just change out the blue tooth panels and replace the rulers with metric. Thought about doing that. Wish I could use them somehow with both standards. They have multiple slots for the indicating rulers so that is not the problem. The current teeth I believe are in 1/32" increments but doubt that aligns with a metric equivalent that is easy to use. Not sure how the newer LS models work with the screw adjusters.

It is actually 4.5 liters per gallon (UK)  1 gal (US ) is actually 3.8 liter

Yes Johnny quit picking on U.S.  After all we still use the English system (which you have the gall to call the Imperial system ;) [laughing]). Certain things are better in the feet and inches and certain things are better in metric. I am bilingual and use them both in my job (engineer) and in ww.

You guys have it easy. I was born in England, moved ten years ago to the US and now live in Canada. I spend half my day working out how much I just paid to fill up my car!

Richard.
