I'm new to working with cabinets/benches/etc and am looking at building out workbenches on the two sides of my garage.
To start out with, I'm trying to decide what is the best/recommended maternal is to build them out of. My first though is plywood, but I know there are multiple types, finishes, thicknesses, etc and wondering if anyone has any ideas.
Additionally, I have an MFT/3 and MFT/3 Kapex, but am finding that they are a bit more wobbly than I would like. Hence as part of the design I'm looking to create a recessed section for each in the top where the MFT's can sit with the legs folded up. I've seen similar designs to this, but just wanting to confirm that this makes sense? My major worry is the width that this will make the bench with the MFT/3 radial arm sticking out the back. Can the bench be too wide?
Lastly, what are peoples thoughts on using 80/20 for the main supports vs plywood/etc (like http://festoolownersgroup.com/member-projects/(yet-another)-8020-mftsys-cart/).
Thanks for your help!
