Shouldn't feel too bad...  Way back when, my dad had some vacuum lifting equipment and had asked my brother to take it down to a job site.  Well, dad was most disappointed to find that my brother had not only delivered the equipment, he had also gassed up the tank.  Well, in his defence, it was shaped and painted just like a gas tank for an outboard -- that didn't prevent any ribbing, however.            CD

To the best of my ability to remember what I saw, it was a Fe stool Systainer with a vacuum pump contained inside.
There was a socket on the outside of the Systainer for the plug-it cord and a fitting which connected to an air/vacuum line that went to the rotating suction platform.
The platform held itself down by vacuum and there was a valve which could be turned to actuate the vacuum to the working side of the rotating platform.
It worked so well that I was unable to get it off of any smooth surface while the pump was running.
A separate Systainer contained the platform and related hose and cord stuff.
I believe that the vacuum pump could easily operate a veneer bag clamping system.
It appeared to be powerful enough such that if you had one strapped to each leg and a control device to turn one and then the other on and off, and a long extension cord, you could easily climb the side of a building, but I digress.
That's all I can help with at the moment and I'm sure that my local Rep, who swore my to secrecy, will be unhappy...but I was very impressed in any event!

Ahh, looks like that's it then...

I assumed it was a compressor - the festool employee I spoke to never said it was a compressor, but didn't tell me my assumption was wrong (maybe he was sworn to secrecy too!).

Hmm, battery powered vacuum machine and a pair of Gecko booties, and up the building you can go?

Being a vacuum pump doesn't necessarily rule out being a compressor, albeit a pretty low volume one. Just connect the hose to the other end, eh?
