Found a way this morning to download for free a current copy of Fine Woodworking magazine. My local library has joined OverDrive which facilitates distributing electronic magazines for their patrons through the Nook app. Couple of quick hoops to jump through: I used my library card to set up an OverDrive account that's linked to my library and also downloaded the Nook app for iOs. I then downloaded the magazine (Festool ad on the inside front cover this month). The library makes available a certain number of copies each month of various titles that you can get. Tangible evidence of my property tax dollars at work. Your local library may have joined this system or may have a similar system for obtaining e-magazines--it's worth checking out.
I've also started to buy outright various books and magazines in electronic format for the Kindle app that I've installed on my Mac as I've been trying to reduce bulk and costs (e-formats are cheaper than hardcopies for obvious reasons).
If anyone has similar electronic print resources that have worked for them, perhaps they can share them on this thread.
