Hello all,

I've been reading the forum for a little while but this is my first post. Just wanted to say thanks for all the helpful advice and inspiration I've got here. The advice helped a lot with this project I did recently, and the inspiration has helped rekindle my woodworking ideas and dreams.

I sprayed these shutters with a Fuji mini mite 4 (Farrow and Ball, client's choice) and assembled with the help of a Domino 500 -- newly acquired for this project, and after doing 144 tenons with it I'm happy I had it.

I'm getting ready to start a build out of my own shutters in the next few months. I was curious about your operations for spraying, as it's the piece that I'm the most unsure of. Did you pre-finish any of the parts before assembly? Or did you just spray everything post assembly? In my mind I envision it being tough to spray everything after it's been assembled.

[member=43744]jyarbrou[/member] I sprayed after assembly, partly because of lack of space in the spray booth, and to be honest because I jumped into the project without planning everything out properly. If I did it again I'd at least prime the louver material in long lengths before assembly to make finish sanding easier.

Thanks [member=167]neilc[/member], I will admit to a certain amount of unhealthy optimism when I took on this project :).

That's super impressive! Well done! Although I guess as you speak of clients you do this for a living - so you should make a good job of it!
