Hi

I'm a hobby woodworker, I own two Festool items,  a CT 17E extractor and a Festool pencil (a freebie when Axminster opened their store in North Shields).
I like a laugh but take my woodwork seriously.
I'm a retired fireman with spinal problems so I don't get into my little workshop as often as I would like too.
I'm the one who asks the stupid questions!

[welcome] [welcome]

No such thing as a stupid questions here!

Plenty of dumb answers though [big grin] particularly from me [wink]

Hi Bertie,

    Welcome to the forum!  [smile]

A CT26 is generally recommended to clean up pencil shavings  [big grin]

Seth

Bertie welcome to the FOG. As Kev said, there are no stupid questions, one is foolish if you do not ask questions from those who have a wealth of experience in areas where you are lacking. By the way if that pencil is a large one you might need a CT 36.

Not sure how tender the spine is... But:
I went to my local Men's shed opening last weekend.
They are setting about 1/week in the UK.
At our local one they had a lathe set up for a bloke in a wheelchair.
But it also gives a place where you have a extra set of paws and backs if there is a men's shed near you.

They probably even have an extractor for your pencil shavings, but I use a dust pan myself, or a mechanical pencil to alleviate additional tool costs.

Hi Bertie,

That's how I started with Festool as well.  One day, I was at a Festool dealer and a staff member gave me a Festool pencil.  The next day, I bought a CT 26.  As Seth mentioned, it does a fine job of keeping the pencil shavings in check.

Welcome Bertie - As you see you will shamelessly try to be sold stuff here.
