I sent my less than a year old Kapex in for repair because smoke came out of my motor housing and the saw was at best running at 1/4 speed. I have tried calling Festool several times and go to voice mail. I leave a message but no return call; it has been over five (5) business days.

I spend a premium not only in money but political capital with my wife to "upgrade" my compound miter saw. A saw that served me well for 10 years, without any issues, except for me not reading a scale correctly.

Based on other posts I have read it seems the Kapex motor is not reliable. I also have read there are many changes "in the background" that are taking place. These issues can be solve/dealt/managed with average or better management and engineering skills.

When you advertise you have superior service and products you need to maintain that at ALL times.  I am so very disappointment with Festool, I fell like I was duped.

I guess I should not be bad mouthing a company when they have my expensive compound miter saw (But maybe they do not...who knows?), but I have a feeling once the warranty is up, and probably several more trips to the repair shop, I will toss the Kapex in the trash.

My disappointment is beyond swearing.....
