Is Festool's FS-WA/90° a clip-on (to t-slot) like GRS-16 PE v2 or slide-on like older version of GRS?

Hi All,

Is FS-WA/90° a clip-on (to t-slot) like GRS-16 PE v2 or slide-on like older version of GRS?

Thanks

Bump :)

Surely someone here with FS-WA/90° who could let us know if it can be mounted mid rail without the need to slide it via t-track from the edge of the rail?

Thanks

Appreciate the reply. Ok, makes sense that the consequence of clip-on is that it is one sided only now. That is a bummer! or is it?

Which is more handy of the two, clip-on, or being double sided?

Thanks

I like the sturdyness of the V1 slide on. You can use one hand to slide it into position and let go of the TSO along with whatever junk you have attached to it, and clip it. The V2, requires 2 hands or you place it on the table. Which still honestly takes two hands because trying to clip it sometimes knocks it out of the groove unless you hold it in position with the off hand.

It is useful though to just clip on when using the MFT and you happen to have a rail protector in the groove that excludes the possibility of just sliding on the old V1. Most of the time, you want this near the end of your rail anyways so I'd vote V1. Unless of course you're cheaping out and attempting to use it for both end PGs, which having one clip-on may be useful - or you can just go and buy the separate PG clip adapter.

Yeah, I fully agree with you.

My mind was set on Benchdogs offerings, especially that I am in EU, and because their sets can be neatly packed into Systainers but I watched detail review of TSO system and it is very impressive, well mostly the flag stops designs and micro adjustments that it allows with push friction from the spring allowing for it etc.

Do you maybe have any experience with Benchdogs setup?

No exp with benchdogs.

The 'microadjust' isn't that fine tuned. It's about as useful as just planting your pinky down while adjusting. Expect 0.5mm accuracy with the TSO, maybe 0.1mm if it's a lucky day. It's a bit finnicky with the way knobs are used to attach to the PG adapters and rails since for tolerance reasons, they have slop. There's no positive registration - I just resort to pulling it consistently one way into the hole while tightening, and hope it doesn't get bumpped too hard when I move it around - lest it throws off the calibration.

There's also the weird choice of having a sight/mirror line flag stop. It works well when the flag is polished. Mine's dirty - because I use it - and I can't see the reflection.

Most of the time these days, I just cut as best I can using those etched markings, and then make sure I keep a reference story stick. Use that to move the flag stop if I ever need to come back to a supposed cut size.
