Is it OK to wash out a Festool vacuum hose?

Hi,
I have a recently acquired CT26 and a Ultimate Dust Deputy was using it to clean up some drywall dust. The Dust Deputy seems to protect the CT26 from clogging with the drywall powder.

My 26mm vacuum hose has a lot of the powder residues and I am thinking about washing it out with water, and perhaps some soap.

Can you think of any reason not to? If so please share your thoughts.

Have you washed out your Festool hoses? If so, please share your experiences.

Thank you!

Nope.

I have. I put it in water and soap and wriggled it around a lot. It came out clean(er).

It's just plastic.

Hmm. Might want to send a rope down the hose and then pull a rag through with it. Knock out as much dust as possible before going to the wash/rinse idea.

I'm not sure why you'd want to expend the effort to clean out the hose.  I'm thinking the next time you use it with your saw or router will clear out the dust just fine.

I'd worry it would turn into a cement like substance
I'd pull a bottle brush thru it

A handfull of pinballs work nicely to clear blockages and shake loose stuff sticking to the walls in the bigger hoses.
Just don't try this on a 27mm hose, at least not with standard (27mm) pinballs.

You need to clear out the dust as much as possible prior to rinsing it as it will turn into a hardened mess. If you can knock or brush out the majority of the debris then you should be fine rinsing it. Won’t hurt the hose at all.

I used the midi to suck some dirty water. After I flushed it with clean water (sucking up bucket with clean water). Then move it to blowing side and “blow dry” the inside.

You can do that with a CT22, but not with a CT26 since they don't have the blower port anymore.
