Hello to everyone. I am now learning about the Festool family and looking forward to replacing my existing tool set with Festool. I will start out by admitting I am not in the woodworking or cabinet or construction or anything like that. I just like fine tools and excellent engineering. Festool seems to have that from what I have found so far. I will be using mainly for home use and for screwing in a deck here or there. Soon most likely a swing set and the traditional stuff for a new family. IT seems that lots of my use has been either over head or lying on my back holding the drill/impact up etc. So the lighter the better is what I have come to appreciate but I also still want to have the power and such.
I currently own Dewalt 12v max impact and drill. I have had the Bosch, Milwaukee, Mikita and back in the day Hilti and Panasonic (old school) drills, drivers, 90 degree tools etc. I have narrowed down and sold off everything except for the Dewalt setup that I got last year as a gift. It has served me well even though I have bogged down the drill and caused it to stop working until it cooled down etc however the impact has been spot on so far with no complaints yet. I used it to re-secure a copy screws down on our deck and here there on the car etc.
I am now looking into the Brushless technology and from what I have found so far the Festool is the only ones playing with brushless in the 10.8 (12V) category.
I am thinking about getting a C12 Li but would like to compliment that with an impact as well. I have already started to appreciate the 90 degree attachment (wish I had that a couple of times) and the attachment that lets you get to screws/bolts that are really close to the wall edge (sure have stripped out a few screws using my old tools trying to put in or take out these types ).
I am also thinking of buying the Festool Systainer and Sortainer etc for some serious garage cleanup/organization.
Thanks in advance and I look forward to reading/learning from many of the experienced members here. So please don't hold my noob questions against me. Just trying to learn as much as fast as possible.
