Supply/demand! No need to speculate on inflation etc, it's likely supply and demand.
I appreciate the price increases to a degree for what it's worth. A few years from now, you are in a better position to sell used tools at close to what you paid due to price increases.
My two cents! (Tomorrow it will be 3 cents)

Yeah... I get all the jokes, but wait!
Are there are any objective reasons for a price increase exactly on April 1st? Dollar exchange rate goes up, oil prices are at very low level. So the only reason to increase the prices on Festool, as I understand, is just greed. Tell me that you don’t agree!
I’ll purchased what I planned anyways, even if it costs me more, but the aftertaste from all this experience is very unpleasant.
Jokes aside, even though that was fun.
I enquired yesterday with my Festool dealer why there were no prices on any murchandise and he told me that Festool prices went up on 1st April and they have had to remove all the old prices. If I need anything they will price check it but they will have to sell it to me at the new prices. He also said, Sorry but Festool policy.
By not displaying prices, your dealer may be in breach of Australian Consumer Law.

'Prices displayed by a business must be clear, accurate and not misleading to consumers. You should always display the total price of a product or service. Certain grocery retailers must also display unit pricing on their shelf labels.'
Hi Untidy, You are right and I went in the store on the 6th April so it's not like they didn't have time to adjust the prices, they had 5 days to do it, but they are very slow in this shop, there doesn't ever seem to be any urgency.
Just a bit frustrating having to keep asking for price checks.
