Hej guys and girls,
first time posting here
I purchased a used T15+3 a while ago, or so I thought. It has seen pretty heavy use before, so it lacked all labels. I really don't mind - it's the best drill I've ever owned, regardless its model or serial number. I use my tools, they don't look new - and the fewer Festool labels, the lower the chance of theft. I clean and lubricate my toys, and they get their fair share of rain and dust as well.
However, I have been using it with 18V batteries ever since - and yes, the drill has the two long slots on the bottom, so it (or at least that particular part of the machine) is definitely made for use with 18V batteries.
Does that mean I have a T18? As far as I can tell, the only other visible difference to the T15 is the brass thread insert for the belt clip at the side of the T18 - which mine does not have. So - no belt clip thread would make it a T15, but the battery compatibility would make it a T18.
The part accepting the battery might have been replaced with a spare part, that's the only explanation that comes to my mind.
I use it heavily (with the 18V Airstream batteries), the drill runs super smooth and doesn't get warm. No signs of overvoltage.
Any thoughts on that?
cheers, Oliver
