Good evening,

I'm considering the Festool OF 1400 Router but I'm encountering some challenges with local dealers (southern Wisconsin) having stock or even being able to get it. To add to the confusion, there's some talk of an upcoming revision to this router in order to comply with EU regulations related to a reset switch or circuitry to prevent an unattended router from causing damage or injuries after power is restored if the power switch is left on.

What is the current Festool item number for the OF 1400? The Festool website shows item number 576213 with a product description of "1400 EQ-F-Plus". Is this the current version? Is there a pending revision to be released in early 2023 (February)? Is it possible that could be causing inventory issues? Thanks!

No clue about an upcoming version but Hartville Hardware and Rockler both have the current version in stock (online). Possibly other places as well.

I too was asking similar question before I pulled the trigger from Hartville few weeks ago. Yes, 576213 is most current version at the moment. Just note that edge guide and guide stop isn't included as in OF 1010.

The latest version of the OF1010 is the REQ-F.  According to the email I received from Festool, the "-F" means "Facelift" and it is the newest version of the OF1010.  I just purchased one from Amazon (sold by Hartville) and was confused by the picture Amazon posted for the router - it was obviously the older version according to the picture but when I received it, I was happy it was the newer version

In this case the F stands for 'F##### #p units', meaning they downgraded the machine from metric to imperial.

Festool USA also claims OF routers made after 2021 are incompatible with the CMS.

This is the new imperial version of this tool. It is identical to the previous version with the exception of the units on the depth scale.*OF Routers produced after 2021 are NOT compatible with the Router Table CMS and all variations.

The new OF 1010, besides coming in a Sys3 systainer, also has a new dust extraction interface....the old one had the oval thing that you had to wrestle the hose end onto, the new one is a bayonet attachment like the other, newer tools. WRT the OF 1400 in the CMS, I have seen no difference. I wish Festool still sold the CMS router table as it was a pretty nice bit of kit with the sliding protractor fence for coping and the like at angles.

According to my email from "The Festool Team, wait for it; the "F" stands for "Facelift" - It's not my term, it is Festools.
