There was a popular story teller, Brother Dave Gardener, who’s tag line was “it’s all good”.

I delivered a gift project, a large dresser, to some young friends this afternoon.

The pleasure of building undoubtedly the most complicated and demanding thing in my woodworking life and gifting it was immeasurably satisfying.

I learned so much building this dresser it amazes me. Most of what I learned was how to fix my mistakes. Also, that very few problems won’t yield to determination.

So, it’s all good.

My father had an album by him i we used to listen together.  What great thing you accomplished and a great memory your reminded me of.

Oh yeah.  If learning from your mistakes makes one smarter, I'm on my way to being a genius.

A quote I took seriously at a pretty young age. "Learn from the mistakes of others, you won't live long enough to make them all yourself"
