Japanese Hand Planes (In limited supply)

Pretty sure it's been posted on the site before, but mentioning veneers and these planes made me think of this video.

When I worked out what he going to do I was thinking 'no, you can't do that!'
That plane probably cost more than my workshop  [smile]

Some of you who do Japanese woodworking may already know about this, but the great purveyor of Japanese antiques located in Brooklyn, Shibui, is temporarily closing up shop due to space/lease issues.  Their relocation time/place is still TBD, but they remain open for business online.  In addition to having a huge selection of furniture, they also have a wide variety of antique Japanese hand tools, from planes and chisels to the large whale-shaped Maebiki-Nokogiri saws that were used to mill logs into lumber.  Many of them are still in great working condition as well.

Most of the tools are not listed on the website, but you can email the owner, Dane Owen, and ask him about availability.
