I'll give up my Dominos when they pry them from my cold... Oh well, you know what I mean however I really admire clever Jigs & Fixtures -- JessEm has a great new system that has a lot of appeal especially if you aren't armed with Dominos.

nice jig!
That jig is interesting if you only have a few loose tenons to do and you can get by by only having 1/4 inch thick tenons. The price is also attractive for occasional use. I like Jessum products but in this case can not agree ith their claim that this is the fastest way to create loose tenon joints. Against a Domino that would not have been a fair fight. Just my opinion. [big grin]

That is a pretty cool jig, but agree if you have a Domino there is not really a point. One limitation is you can only drill mortises in one direction (parallel to the face of your work) for most work. I often have horizontal and vertical mortises in my work, depending on what I am doing. The Domino allows placement anywhere.

My best bud loves the Domino. He has been over my house a number of times and used/played with it each time he comes over.
But the price of the Domino is not in his budget. He is a weekend worrier DIYer. I told him about this jig for a project he was wanting to tackle.
He had asked if he could borrow my Domino, but I had a project going on at the time he needed it. So after he watched this video he ordered this
Jessem Jig. He said it worked just fine. He added that he needed to buy a new drill because the cordless drill he was using had weak/bad batteries.
I think it's a Craftsman. But anyways, he was building some cabinet doors for his garage cabinets. He said every time he used it, he wish it was the
Domino. I spoiled him a little by letting him use my Festool tools for some of his projects. He loves it when I come over with a car full of Festool
systainers [big grin]. I don't think Jessem was trying to compete with the Domino with this jig. I think the target was for the weekend worriers.
