Received a Black Friday mailer from Woodcraft. Fifty percent off Jet clamps in 24", 31" & 40" sizes from Nov 28 - Dec 1. I have confirmed that this deal is available in-store but I don't yet have confirmation that it will be available online.

Also of interest to Festooligans is 40% off an anthracite Mini T-loc from Nov 28 - Dec 24.  Great deal but I prefer white.

I did hear from Woodcraft that the sale will also be in the online store. However, these are large and heavy items and shipping could significantly decrease the value proposition. The shipping cost for the 2 larger clamps is not calculated when you checkout apparently because of the weight or size of the clamps. Would have to contact customer service to find out what the cost is to ship. I'm going to try and get them in the store.

My local Woodcraft has always been happy to order such things for me at the sale price but I am not sure of the exact circumstances or wording in the ads in the past.  I think the "While Supplies Last" includes any that they have in warehouse and can order to the store even if they don't arrive before the sale ends.

I asked them for a shipping quote for 4 each of these clamps(12 total). It was $44.08 via ground shipping. I think that is pretty reasonable. I was expecting over $100.

Didn't think it would get any better than this but In Touch Tools has now announced that they will also be participating in the 4 day Jet sale. They are offering a much wider range then Woodcraft, as well as free shipping. They are encouraging pre orders.

Other than some freak pricing mistakes that have occurred on Amazon over the years, I don't think I have ever seen a better deal on these clamps.

After placing my pre-order this morning I just received an email that In Touch won't be able to get the clamps at their advertised pre black Friday sale! They have  re-listed all the clamps up 100% from where they were this morning/yesterday!!! What a bummer. Although they are still discounted, they are not any where near the steal they were earlier.

How dispointing. Lets keep an eye out for other vendors participating in the 4 day event. There must be more. Maybe one of them will have free shipping.

Same thing happened to me, I placed an order this morning and just got an email saying that they can't fulfill the order. Oh well, I like Bessey's better anyway.

They also had the Powermatic PM1800 listed for $2,470. I asked about that and it was obviously wrong.

i got the same flyer from woodcraft in madison, wi.  i called the store and you have to come in and beat the crowds with a stick (or with a clamp) while supplies last.  that kind of discount is about the only time i consider the jet brand, but it did not sound like they were bringing in loads of clamps for the event.  i also got an email from hardwood connection in sycamore, IL regarding their open house this weekend.  they said the dealer has to "buy in" to offer that discount, but they opted out, with an exception.  however, their jet sale starts on the 22nd and they will be having 50%off the 4 piece framing clamp sets (some of the same clamps in sets of 4 and includes the clamp holders)
also got an email regarding this sale from beaver industrial supply and they're having triple award points now through monday.  while they list 50% off on selected black friday items, i could not confirm that the clamps were available at that discount because the link in the email did not work.  i thought about calling them but then i remembered that their customer service is not very good which is why i stopped ordering from them.  i could never get info on if they had an item in stock or when the ship date would be.  once i called three times about a week between calls and got three completely different stories.  but it's interesting to note that they're a festool dealer where you can get an indirect discount on festools through this points scheme.  the way it works is that when you order anything/any brand you earn points based on dollars spent (i believe it's equivalent to 1% but i've forgotten).  so if you're clever and patient you wait for these triple point weekends and place your order.  and then on the next subsequent order you can cash in your points on any brand, including festool.  but i have since found festool dealers who are much more responsive and have much better customer service, which is worth more to me.

Wow! $32.50 for a 40" clamp! That's 5 times cheaper than in Norway!

I sent them an email and asked if they offered international shipping and if they could provide me with a shipping quote (if the answer was yes).

They responded that I could place an order between said dates. I guess that means they offer international shipping. Then they end it with "Please let us know if you have any questions". I'm like "Of course I have, you just left my other question unanswered!" :(

If I remember correctly -  sometimes there's a 50% sale on clamps (Harbor Freight previously, or am I remembering wrong?). Does anyone know if the clamps usually sell out during the first hour, or if it's safe to wait to e.g 11/29?

I have spent quite a bit of time investigating the other vendors that are participating in this sales event. There is a lot of variation amongst vendors as to which clamps they are offering at the 50% off prices.

The vendor with the widest selection that offers free shipping is InternationalTool.com. They are not offering the 82" or 98" lengths, but shipping is free with orders over $99 USD(contiguous USA only). They will ship internationally but you must call or email for a quote and cannot use a credit card.

The vendor with the absolute widest selection is ToolOrbit.com. They are offering every length of clamp. However they are not offering free shipping (although the shipping is reasonable). They will sell to international customers but you must make your own shipping arrangements.

Thanks for doing the leg work.  I just placed my order from both of those vendors.

Just in case no one knows I just placed an order for the jet clamps with free shipping at woodcraft. The order placed didn't charge me any taxes either and I have two retail stores here in Houston. Hth

Thanks, I ordered some from International Tool.

Wondering how you guys feel about those clamps when you got them.

Mine's were very poorly made. The moving jaws were very sticky, making very unpleasant noise sliding up and down because of the locking mechanism. I ordered (6) of the 40", but all of them like that. (The fixed jaws were different color of red than the moving jaws, but I can deal with that).

Do I need some kind of break-in procedure? Am I doing anything wrong?

BTW, I do have a bunch of Jorgensen parallel clamps, and they've been great for years.

I have not received mine yet (they have not even shipped). But when I get them I planned to wax them so that glue will be easier to remove. Perhaps this would also help them slide easier.

I have Bessey clamps now and I don't like using them because they are unable to lock in an open position. As a result when you have to use them on end(vertically) it is very awkward to position more than one clamp at a time without the head crashing down the bar. That is the main reason I bought the Jet(the jet are always locked is my understanding). Many opinions I have read say the Jet compare favorably to the Bessey, including The Wood Whisperer (6:14) who has both and prefers the Jets (and is also a Festool guy FWIW).

I bought some last years and it was the same ,very sticky ,but after awhile it won't be so bad .You can also run a wire brush wheel over the knurl part of the bar to stop it from sticking so much
