You can see from the video how smooth the action is.  You won't achieve that using wheels. 

I think that the advertised linear bearings will need some sort of support in either a steel or aluminum L-shaped extrusion.  When they arrive you can quickly tell if support is needed.  Simply rest the ends of the shafts on supports and place your router in the center.  Measure the height in the center with and without the load of the router.  There should not be a noticeable difference in height.
 
If I wind up doing a lot more slab work I will build one out of linear bearings but right now I only have 4oo bdft of wood. So, until it makes me some money a more expensive setup is out of the question. Sure looks like it works slick. My day job is working on industrial equipment. We have all kinds of bearings on big equipment but the good stuff is expensive.
