Jigsaw in the CMS-PS module?

Has anyone got a CMS-PS with either the PS300 or the PS400 or even had first hand experience with one?

Searching the net for info on it turns pretty much zilch! Found only one Festool video of the CMS-system with abt. 3s of the CMS-PS in use and FOG came clear with no hits at all...

Well, I made a module myself using a piece of hpl (Trespa) and a bunch of official Festool parts for attaching my PS300 to it. It works just fine.

What exaclty do you want to know?

I have one.. what do you want to know about it. It works very well, only comment is that sometime if cutting thicker material you get a bit of dust on the topside which can obscure your cutting line so need to blow on it, but otherwise I guess it work just as you imagine.. great for following detailed lines very accurately as from that perspectice its a bit like a bandsaw, you get to see the blade, wood and line without any machinery in the way

Hey Bud,

I just got one and remember this post. I only used it a few times. It does a good job . You have to use the scrolling blade (75s-K - I think) I have only cut out some push sticks like the festool one ( I traced it on 6mm and 12mm ply.) .

I also made a template for some corbels for a small shelf Im building.

Will it replace a Full sized band saw , no  of course not.

Can it make some nice patterns/ templates, yes.

I have not used it in any hardwood yet only ply and 30mm pine.

Oh Im using the PS300 jigsaw in it.

Its real easy to instal in the module and remove from the module to.

Well, I have also posted in another thread my experiences on this with my ex. Carvex 400 cordless and have now used mine for a while with my Carvex 420 corded.

What would actually still be of intrest is if you can tilt the PS300 while attached to this and if that gives any real benefit? The Carvex is attached with the guiderail base to the unit so no tilting it.

A good friend of mine was over today and asked me the same question.

I havent tilted it or even tried yet.

I imagine that there may be a benefit to it. When my wife took a scroll saw class the instructor had them tilt the table when scrolling.

Why? I cant really remember, it was a while ago.

But so far with this unit I havent had the need for what Ive been using it for.

I've been gravitating lately to have permanent machines attached to my CMS modules - TS55 in CMS, TSC55 for hand held - looking for an OF2200 to put into the table permanently and get my OF1400 back as my handheld router, currently having a permanently attached Carvex guiderail attachment on the CMS-PS to quick swap the Carvex in-out of the CMS module. Every time I see a PS300 on our local craigslist I'm tempted to get one to keep permanently in the CMS insert, but just can't get myself to pay 200€ for it if the only benefit is just having one there since the attachment takes like 2 seconds with the quick release base and I use it like once a year  [embarassed] 

I just wish Festool would listen to our wishes and bring a line of high-end CMS specific modules with more repeatable/usable adjustments than the converted handtools we currently have...

- A router module based on a 2200W motor, automatically locking Colette when lifted up, a motorized lift with digital adjustment, insert top controls and depth-of-cut screen, automatic calibration for depth setting, electric plug so that one doesn't need a plugit cord hanging between the machine & the CMS power switch and swap the current fence for an Incra LS-like fence 

- A table saw module which essentially would be the CS70 sawing module in a CMS package with proper tilt controls and pull-saw capability, large blade/cut capacity, maybe beef it up with electronic height/tilt controls as well

- A jointer/planer module, with helical cutters, excellent DC, low noise and a high quality adjustable fence (maybe standardize on an Incra LS-positioner fence)

- A bobbing spindle sander module or possibly a combination module the has a disc sander as well as a spindle one

- A small bandsaw module which folds into the CMS-module when not in use
- A small drill press module which folds into the CMS-module when not in use and uses fully electronic speed control instead of silly belts, maybe have lasers for centre point  [tongue]
