Does anyone know of a video of a Trion or Carvex cutting curves at least a 3" thick in a piece of wood.  I am going to be building two trellis's and I am thinking about a festool jigsaw for cutting the tails.  Have heard they are perfectly straight, no deflection in the blade.

Thanks
Bill

Can you hold off on the project for a few months?  The Carvex isnt coming out til June 1.  That's a much nicer jigsaw then the trion in my opinion.

But in any event, if you have a lot of rafter tails to cut, I would just make a template out of some scrap ply, rough cut the rafters with a jig saw, then use a pattern bit on a router to finish the cut.  This way youre guaranteed straight, smooth cuts that are all identical.

The pattern and the router is what we normally do.  I was just looking for an excuse to buy a new jigsaw.  I thought i saw a  video a while back.

Ok, this Video only shows cutting of 1 1/2" Wood with the Carvex, but at least it shows a 180 degree Curve with full Pendulum Action and full speed of the Blade.
It shows the Carvex version from May last year - since June last year, the probs with the Adapter base are gone.
Carvex Curve Cutting

kind regards, Mike
