Well I had a very nice surprise after getting off the train in Providence.
Peter Halle was there in the station waiting for me!
He's a class act.

That might be the greatest coat I have ever seen in my life.

Thanks skids. Well, it's certainly the LOUDEST coat you may have ever seen. ;D ;) ;D  There was a thread called GO USA in the chat section about products like this being made in the USA.

Dear Bob,
If you don't wear that coat tomorrow, (insert threat here).

That's just killer.

    Hey Sean,

You may be correct about that coat being killer - when my wife and daughter saw it, I think they both wanted to kill me - at least figuratively speaking - I think. [scared]

The free schwag toolbox-sys was nice but getting to MEET and LISTEN to Norm Abrams speak was just awesome!  It looked like your marketing guy was almost brought to tears when he was given the news on stage.  I really thought he was about to say there had been a death in his family!  Definitely was like the scene in the recent Parks & Recreation episode at the Indiana woodworking awards with Chris Becksvoort & Ron Swanson.    :)

I was able to watch live here in Phoenix, AZ up until my appointment. I am glad they were able to stream live the broadcast of what was going on, but I ended up missing half of it. Is there a way to see a recording? Somebody post this on YouTube?

In the thread about the live streaming, Shane said recordings of the Connect event will get posted next week.  He probably really means a week, too, unlike me where a week goes -poof- a month.

(Hi from another Phoenix dweller)

The Connect event was a smash. Extremely well done and was a pleasure finally meeting up with some customers as well as the Tool Nut Crew, Seth S,  Peter H and Brent Shivley -Festool's Application Expert and fielder of untold techy questions - as well as a surprise visit from Norm.
Hats off to Rick Bush, Shane, Michael Williams, Brian Sedgley, Steve Bace and too numerous to mention Festool staff.
This show portends well for the future; as Festool grows, so does the quality of all manner of support.

Saw the facebook post that Norm Abrams made a visit, Would of loved to have seen him and shake his hand. I grew up watching the new yankee workshop, was devestated when they pulled the show  [unsure]

Ya the same here. I watched every single one of his shows countless time including all the repeats!

I was able to catch a few minutes of Norm online, was awesome.

Thank you, folks from Festool, for making this a 'online' event really awesome. If a recording gets posted I'll definitely watch more.

Dang! So upset I had to cancel going at the last minute, looks like everyone had a good time!

Maybe next year [unsure]

Not to rub it in, but it was awesome!

The Festool folks did a fantastic job pulling this altogether.

Had to duck out and head for home before the beer was flowing.  But I'll be back on Saturday.  Great time guys!  Obviously a lot of planning went into this thing and it paid off!  Great presentations, swag was sweet, food awesome and Nahm Abram was a big surprise!  My hats off to all who put this together!  You guys set the bar pretty high for next year.  Those who couldn't attend missed something for sure.  Hope to get more of a chance to talk to you on Sat.  Bob, that coat is you!  Filson, eh?

What a great day!
All the people from Festool did a great job, well worth the trip. Thank You!
Great to meet Norm also, and free stuff !
WOW!
Can't wait til tomorrow!

Connect was a great event  ! Those who didn't or couldn't make it , should plan for the next one.  [cool]

Seth

I second that this was a great event and was happy to meet a lot of people from the FOG.  The swag was nice, the sys toolbox is a great gift for attending.  Listening and meeting Norm was fantastic.  Winning a syslite was the icing on a great cake.

I have to give a huge thank you to Shane and all of the Festool team.  It was a blast and can't wait until next years Connect.
