JLC Providence - Festool Connect 2013 - March 21st

Sounds like a blast! Here in Nevada I could not get the streaming video to work, I will watch for it on Youtube.

In the mean time, any chance for some photos of the booth or demonstrations or the Festool schwag... [unsure]

First, a big THANK YOU to Festool for putting on their 2nd annual Connect event!

I had a blast...nuff said!  This is such a great opportunity to meet and mingle with common interest people...hobbyists and pros!

Festool outdid themselves with an Oprah style Christmas giveaway (the open tool tote), previewed the new tools and hand delivered Norm Abrams...how awesome is that!!!

If you've missed these two events, pencil in for number 3 next year...Rick Bush already promised the crowd that planning for next year will commence now!  Haha

Quite honestly though, the Connect & JLC Live are two days that I've set aside for ME so that I can spend some time with friends that I've made over the years via FOG and through these events!

Again, many thanks for holding an event like this!  It just goes to show that there are companies interested in their customers after they've made their purchases (and before their next lol)

See y'all next year or sooner!

Bob

Here's what was inside the swag bags.  The bag itself is very nice too.  Not pictured is a systool box.

Definitely had an awesome time at jlc this year. It was great to see everyone and to meet some new faces. I will be roaming around till around 11 today, Saturday, so if anyone's still here say hi.

Festool better start planning next year and I expect greater prizes  [tongue]

Welp, we're back home at the mother ship.  Had a great time this year, as we did last.  It's always nice to see friends at this time of the year.  From customers to business associates, sales reps, etc... it's always a lot of fun to spend time with everyone.

Connect was twice as large, twice as long, twice as involved as last year and I'm sure Festool will outdo themselves again next time around.

It was really nice to spend time chatting with Uncle Bob, Shane, Peter, Seth, the usual Tool Nut crew of hooligans Reinhold, Builder Bob and Sal, and lastly our new rep for the tri-state area Ken Barrone.  Ken seems like a fantastic dude and seems to be quite the carpenter himself.

Connect was great. And JLC as a whole was too. It was cool to meet and chat with so many foggers !

I sill haven't finished getting back home, but it was great to see how the Festool Connect event is evolving, and I can't wait to see what happens next year.  I spent most of the JLC Live portion watching and listening to the Festool guys demo different tools and answer questions.  Each guy has his own style. I admit that I tend to get fixated on the demos, but from experience I have learned so many tidbits and had a chance to ask a question in a snippet of an opening by watching so much. The video guys and gals were really great to talk with.  And for anyone who has been to Festool USA Training - Minnie was there!

I know I saw many new Fogger faces and lots of familiar faces from last year.  Hopefully next year there will be even more.

A thank you to Festool for everything you did to make these events special and educational for all of those who could attend as well as those who couldn't.

It was great to meet you Peter. Thanks for all your hard work here on FOG and at the event! You are one of the reasons it coalesced into such a great event.

See you next year, can't wait!

Peter,

I agree completely. I learned more from Steve Bace in 20 minutes than I learn in my meanderings in 20 days. Really amazing the amount of skill and knowledge on that team.

I got to tag along on a little festool learning journey Steve took Don Mirabito on at the end of the show yesterday. Whats cool is that the tips we all pick up can be immediately implemented.

Thank you for the comment, but I had absolutely nothing to do with the events.  Those all were the efforts of the great guys and gals at Festool.

I have been wanting a Festool beanie for years!

I hope they start selling them.  I would buy a couple.   I wear them all the time.

Shane, any chance that they will be for sale?

Eric

Do you want the beanie?  I will never wear it, to uncomfortable on my head.  Send me an email with your address and I will send it out in the next day or so.

Eric, I'm not sure what the plan is. I suspect we ran out or were close to running out after having thousands of people through the booth on Friday and Saturday in addition to our attendees at Connect. I don't think extras were ordered. But, it may be that we add them to the line up in the future. Cold weather is hopefully coming to an end for most of us soon. I'm ready for some warm temps and sunshine.

All this over a sock cap?

It is the best sock cap ever. It actually makes your brain work Faster, Easier, Smarter.  [scratch chin]  [big grin]

I also understand it is excellent for covering up head injuries.  [wink]  For those times you forget a hard hat.  [blink]
