July 2008 out of town competition

i dont know how to do this.................  but.................  IT MUST BE DONE

i personally would like the "out of towners" to have a real (or near real) interest in the monthly competition

it is a "potential" source of friction that i would prefer will never occour

there are no judges at present and i would like ideas

the point being is that i would envisage american judges to discuss (non american) projects

how on earth we get REAL prizes to us "out of towners" i have no idea at present

kordes from new zealand has a wonderfull project with some exquisite detail

and our friend from france with his black and decker based, extending working table for a small workshop

for goodness sake, can somebody give me the link for both these items

both have merit and their work must be acknowledged by the rest of us

i THINK, hes from yougoslavia (please forgive me sir) i know the country is in-correct

he has some forthright views and would love him to join in here

I agree, he would be a good candidate for "Judgeship".  I wrote "Henrik" yesterday in another thread (http://festoolownersgroup.com/index.php?topic=4205.msg50390;topicseen#msg50390) when I hadn't seen his presence here on FOG. At this time of year I believe he might be on one of your European month long "holidays".

id love a month long holiday

but it aint never going to happen

im self employeed

the only people who can manage it are those who work for local government

they are SO badly underpaid, "work" the shortest hours on the planet (less than the french 35 hour week)

get an extra day at each national holiday (theyd get the 4th july and 5th july)

so...................... if 4th july was an english holiday (on a friday)

they automatically get the friday off (saturday and sunday obviously) PLUS monday as well

.................................. unbelievable or not............... it happens
