Everyone,
We're ready to kick off the third monthly contest!

This month's category:
It will be completely open this month.  Any project posted in the Member Projects board or the Adult/Child Projects board is automatically entered in the contest.  Also, we are including jigs and other member inventions in this months contest, which can be found in this board.

This month's prize:
Either a PS 300 or a PSB 300 jigsaw.  The winner chooses which one.  The winner will be announced on August 1.

This month's Judges:
Brice Burrell
greg mann
Eiji Fuller
Matthew Schenker

Remember, any project in the "Member Projects" section is automatically entered in the contest.  You don't have to do anything special to enter except post your project.

For a refresher on the basics of the contest, click here.

Everyone, please use this space to discuss your favorite project and what you like about it.  Judges will also weigh in once in a while with their opinions.

Looking forward to another successful contest!

Thanks everyone,
Matthew

Good Morning,
This month includes projects as well as jigs and member inventions.  That's a lot of possible entries!
As the judges take a look at all the potential entries, does anyone want to toss out a few favorites for this month?
Matthew

Hi Michael. Where would you like us to post our jigs & inventions? I have a couple little gizmos to add. ;)

Okay, I'll be adding a list of my favorites projects, jigs and inventions.

I would be happy to see Paul Franklin's home made sysports (see the thread:http://festoolownersgroup.com/index.php?topic=167.0) win this month's contest.  He first posted this back when our forum was on Yahoo and it influenced many of us (including me) to build our own sysports.  The thread that I pointed to has had more than twice as many views as any other Jigs or Projects thread.

Frank, that's a good one, that thread has inspired more users to get involved than almost any other thread on this forum.

I'd like to see Eric Gustafsons CT22 Cyclone win. I just need to get him to post it. ;D It' pretty impressive. I'll call him tonight.

I like Mirko's LR32 jig/techniques. I cant seem to find the thread though.

Eiji

Brice,
Excellent list!  It's great to have a starting point like that.  Let's see if people want to add others, or what they have to say about the ones you've already shown.
With the addition of jigs to the categories, there are not lots of possibilities.
Matthew

Now that's some tough competition. You judges have a difficult job ahead of you. I called my BIL. He said he'll post his cyclone/ct-22 before the end of the month. ;D

ive accepted a post as judge for this months contest

my initial thoughts on criteria is to keep as level a playing field as possible between all levels of ability

my personal feeling is that pro's can rightly or wrongly be seen to have a distinct advantage

pros get good clients who will spend money on good work and the pros have the tools

however what all pros, diyers and hobbiests have in common

is the need for temporary jigs and support systems that are not part of the finished works

im looking for imagination as well as finely excuted work

Most of this thread makes it appear that you need to have the best jig to win the jigsaw. Is that right?

No, the projects are still in the running, it's just I have yet to posted my fav projects for this month. But I bet a jig may take the jig.....saw this month.
