Greetings,
This month, I'm happy to announce that Taunton is offering a one-year subscription to Fine Woodworking magazine as a prize for the Festool Owners Group.

Like last month, this will be another random drawing.  However, to avoid any misundersandings, the contest this month will be open to all members.

You DO NOT have to be a supporter to be in this.  As long as you are a member, you are eligible for this prize.

Stay in touch,
Matthew

Congratulations Bob, don't forget to thank Fine Woodworking and Matthew for putting this together.

Congrats Bob! I just bought a magazine the day Matthew announced the drawing, I'll have to subscribe to it myself. I really liked it.

This is absolutely cool!  Not only thanks to Taunton but a big thanks to Matthew for keeping this board alive and lively.  I may not contribute ideas too often but I learn a lot and read a lot.

Double thanks, Matthew!  :) :)

Does this thread still need to be sticky? [2cents]

This thread - June Giveaway: One-Year Subscription to Fine Woodworking - was a draw/random lot/giveaway that ran in June 2009. The winner's name was announced at the beginning of July, and the remainder of the messages were mainly to congratulate the winner.

A "sticky" thread is an important one that always appears at the top of the list of threads in a board, to make sure people see it, like About this Board appears at the top of FESTOOL DISCUSSIONS > Festool Tool Reviews

I cannot see any reason why the June Giveaway thread should be highlighted in such a way - the competition was announced, it ran for a month, the winner was announced, congratulations and a thank you were made - end of story!

Could you explain the thinking behind your suggestion to make it "sticky"?

Forrest

Your comments are exactly my point! why is the thread still sticky?

Oops!   [embarassed]

I didn't spot the word "still" in your post - I thought you'd said "Does this thread need to be sticky?", hence my reply.

No, it most certainly doesn't need to be sticky, and I will arrange for it to become "unstuck"!

Thank you for bringing it to our attention.

Forrest

Well, as this thread sinks into well-deserved oblivion, let me just say that I am enjoying the heck out of the FWW mags. Thanks one last time.  [smile]

Bob,

It won't sink into oblivion, just won't be a headliner anymore.

Peter
