Hi everybody,

I'm a junior pro woodworker in Paris (where love stories meet yellow jackets stories  [censored]) using a bicycle for most of my diplacements and you can take a look at my professionnal life on insta/lerabotperche

le rabot perché is my company name and a pun between the tool "le rabot" (router plane) and "le chat perché" (cat perched but also playing tag) and complicated to translate.

I've learn woodworking from scratch and got all my customers from word to mouth and this last months I've been able to buy some Festool tools. So things are on the good way.

Bienvenue sur le forum! I couldn't resist checking out your Instagram feed - I love seeing bikes at work! Also, that photo of the orange cat asleep in the tree stump made me laugh! I look forward to your input.

welcome and I hope you post some of your work. Id really like to see it.

Welcome, I also checked out your Insta, nice that you can use the bike for your day to day transport
Share some of your work

I visited Paris last summer and had a great time.  I was blown away by the art nouveau wood art/craftsmanship exhibit in the Musée d'Orsay.  The design and craftsmanship of the furniture and architectural woodwork were just awesome!  How great to have that kind of inspiration available to you - enough inspiration for a lifetime of work, I think.

While I was in the exhibit, I was impressed by the joinery at the top of one of the table legs.  I was the only one in the exhibit at the time, so I got down on the floor to take a picture (no-flash pics were allowed) and rested my hand on the edge of the exhibit platform.  Of course touching an exhibited piece is taboo, but I quickly learned that touching the exhibit platforms is also taboo from a watchful guard and the exhibit attendant, who both immediately let me know that I was out of line.  Live and learn...  I apologized and recognized their attention and care, but they watched me pretty closely until I left the exhibit.  I got the feeling they were thinking that if a guy would get down on the floor and touch an exhibit platform, you just didn't know what he might do next :)

Hi everybody, thank you for the kind welcoming messages :) I will try to share my work but there is so awesome things, jig, things and things around here ... ahem...  [embarassed]

Our parents told us to touch with our own eyes  [big grin] Guardmen in musueum of Paris have a very long story of happenings Sometimes something is destroyed, stolen or someone get naked.

Bonjour et bienvenue sur le FOG!

Tu peut aussi relier ton histoire à de lointain cousins avec le rocher percé (Qc). Bon il est pas perché mais quand même  [wink]
