I just purchased a new Carvex, but haven't recieved it yet.My original thought was to sell the Trion, but after watching some video's and reading some reviews,I am having second thoughts about selling it.I thought instead of spending the money on another base for the Carvex to cut bevels,I should just use the Trion. It also seems like the Trion would be more stable making bevel cuts, since both sides of the base are on the workpiece.Any input or opinons would be appreciated.

I would wait until your 30 days are almost up
Try the carvex very carefully and then if you feel that the carvex is not for you, just return it
and keep the trion
But you need to put both saws to work and decide at the end of the trial period
Don't sell your trion just yet.

MasterCabman,
I am not interested is returning the Carvex,I mainly bought it for the light and to have more visibility while making cuts.I was just wondering if it would make more sense to just keep my trion (which I have had more than 30 day's) for making bevel cuts, than to spend the money for another base for the Carvex.I was just wanting to hear from people who have had the carvex for a while about making bevel cuts with it.

I understand, but I would still wait to see if you really like the carvex after working with it.You never know, maybe you 'll love it or hate it.
As far the angle base for the carvex,it does not make any sence to me.There's no benefit to the new design.i tried it and did not care for it.Does not have enough foot surface.

Mastercabman,
Thanks for your input,I really want the Carvex to work for me as far as being able to see while making straight cuts, that was my reasoning for replacing my Trion with it.I am starting to think it might make sense to keep the Trion just for bevel cuts instead of trying to use the Carvex with the bevel base.

As suggested I would put the Carvex thru tests based on what you do before deciding.  Everyone's wants, needs, and expectations are different.

I hesitated buying carvex when corded model came out due to some expressing angle base concerns.  After reading extensive reviews on FOG I Bought it and love the saw...I don't do much angle cutting though.  It's weight is noticeably less compared to trion (a "wow" actually slipped out of my mouth when I picked it up); the blade light and visibility are excellent and I love the A speed setting.  The circle cutter is great too and may be worth it on its own if you do large circle cuts like tables.  Good luck.

I agree with what others have said.  Personally I kept my Trion and a Bosch 572 to go along with my Carvex and so I am in jigsaw bliss in my shop and have the right saw for whatever application comes my way.  ;D

PS -- I think that the rail stop for the Trion is better than the Carvex as you can adjust the Trion to be perfect to the rail with no slop -- cannot do  that with the Carvex for some reason.
