Hi all,
just ordered 1x RTS-500 Cutter Adapter for Festool DF700,1x Domi-Shims for Domino XL DF 700 and 2x Clamp Dog for Festool MFT Table. before ordering I was looking through you tube to see if any one had made videos showing the adapters in use, I couldn't find any, I intend on using it for building an up coming kitchen with 19mm ply, how are peoples experiences with the Seneca adapters  and the DF 700 did it work as expected? ease of use, any tips, I'm sure after building a couple of kitchens i'll have it down, but I love to learn from others mistakes as well. Thanks
If this has been talked into the ground I'm sorry, i'm still getting my feet wet in festool life.

I have the cutter adapter and the domishims. I have only used the cutter adapter so far and it works great. I dont forsee any issues with the domishims. Everything is great quality.

I have both and have used the quite a bit.

The adapter is simple... Screw the bit into the adapter, then into the 700. Nothing to it. Some of the smaller bits require a small amount of math to make them work properly, but that is about it.

The plates are really good if you work with ply. One for ¾ and one for ½. The only complaint I ever had was the way they attach. Screwing and unscrewing when working with mixed ply can get old, fairly quick. I just modified my workflow to accommodate. I have some bigger plans to "fix it" but haven't gotten around to it yet.

All are quality parts.  Enjoy.

Cheers. Bryan.

Thanks
Appreciate the input, I mainly do 3/4' so this should work out well, I'm going to add the 500 systainer to get all the small bits.

Perfect answer!  You will like this setup very much.

Cheers. Bryan.

I have the adapter and shims as well.  They have been used for several projects and i am very happy with the them.  I agree with bkharman 100% about screwing and unscrewing the shims for different thicknesses.

Seneca make quality products.

There are reports of breaking the xl at the attachment point.  I have not had this issue even though I have made hundreds of mortises in IPE(ironwood).  The bits self tighten so all you need is to snug them on.  I leave the seneca adaptor on the xl and remove just the bits by holding the seneca adaptor and twisting off the bit.  when I put the bits on i press the chuck hold button finger tight the bit and place a wrench on it with VERY light pressure to install the bit.  I haven't had any problems.  As for the shims, i really never waste the time to put the 3/4 shim on.  It's hardly any difference in mortise placement.  The 1/2 thickness shim is great, but this task can be accomplished by placing anything the proper thickness on top of your workpiece...

Rob,  Do you mean breakage of the DF700 attachment point or the DF500 cutter attachment point on our Adapter?          Since our product's release, we've had zero direct reports of breakage, of either our adapter or a DF700.  I monitor forum discussion and product reviews fairly regularly to see if there are any problems or complaints customers aren't reporting directly to us.

Can you point me in the direction of the fourm post or review where you found these reports?  We take quality issues very seriously,  and if someone has had trouble with our product, I'd like to reach out to them and find out more details.

We designed our RTS-500 Cutter Adapter so the overall length of cutter+adapter is the same as an original DF700 cutter,  so any leverage forces exerted on the DF700 will be the same or less (due to the smaller diameter cutter) than the machine was designed for.
