Tried to pick it up with my Mustang on the way to work.....didn't fit. I opened the box and took the guides and such. At lest I get to read the manual, and play with the parts!

I saw it on e-bay last week.  However, the seller was asking for $50 shipping. I thought these shipped free so did not pull the trigger.

Well I didn't get it on eBay, my local Woodcraft called and said it was there. Thought it wouldn't get to me until  mid May. Guess I got lucky! I would have bought through Bob, but didn't know about him until after I made my first post. Kind of embarrassed about that.

If did buy through Bob it would have been shipped on May 1st like it should have. I'm it was a mistake that Woodcraft gave you the MFT/3 before 5/1.

you were lucky that somebody at the store made a mistake.... my woodcraft store has 4 in stock but cannot sell them till may 1st or else they said they would be shot!!

so everbody else just hold on to spend your 575 bucks..  I did put one on hold........

I won't tell, unless of course you tell us you picked up your Kapex and your Vac system while you were there!  :)

Well don't mention this to a Cop or anything but if he had picked up the Kapex and vac system also he might have ended up DOA.  ;) :D :o Fred

I feel like a fugitive now, but don't worry, I have "full powers of arrest" and will take care of the situation promptly! ;)

P.S. I did the P/U on Sunday, in my Hyundai Sonata!

mitch,
I'm pretty certain this was a bad blunder by your local woodcraft, and other dealers will probably not be happy about it.

(Back dated to April 1st)

Bob,

Thanks for letting me have my MFT-3 early.  Are they still buy one get one free?  Also, thanks for the great deal on the Kapex ($850.95) Can't wait to get it next week.

Peace,

Kevin

My MFT arrived today, straight from Germany (I'm in Finland).

I haven't had time to unpack it yet though... Probably tomorrow...

Just unpacking mine now. Attached the stability supports already, no thanks to the unclear "manual" (piece of paper, poor diagrams, no description).

Festool clearly skimp on the paperwork to avoid paying translation costs (in Europe). After 5-10 minutes of head scratching, I got them sorted though.

Didn't find any allen keys or cheap wrench included with the stability supports (bit surprising considering their cost - 80 euros over this side of the pond)... about to install the fence etc.... Of course, I have these already, but still, would save a grep around the tool box...

Inside info,

Festool usa has a huge instruction program upgrade in the works.

This little problem won't be around too much longer.

That either means Europeans are smarter than Americans and do not require manuals.

Or that Europeans do not read the manuals so Festool doesn't bother with them in Europe  :-\ ;D ???

Seriously,

What it means is  Americans are just not used to using a  entire tool system and the way it works.

We, by and large are singular tool centric. ;D
