I’ve had my kapex for 5 years and it is my only saw traveling most days to site. It’s cut everything from 50x225 treated to 10mm glazing bead. Always made my own sacrificial fence and inserts and never had a problem.
Today however it decided to grab an off cut of sapele and spin it into the retracted guard smashing it. Never had it happen before and please don’t lecture on technique it’s just one of those things.
As it’s 5years old what’s the best way in the UK to repair this? I’ve only had Festool repairs via the warranty programme before and don’t know where to start. Is it a user serviceable part?

Hi
Go to the service tab and then spare parts. EKAT will be there and the parts can be found to be ordered direct

I sold my first Kapex to a neighbour and he did the same with a low flying bit of brown oak which smashed the blade guard. A quick phone call to Festool, part number identified and ordered.

I have just phoned him and he tells me it was part number 470655 and it cost him about £15 including post and packing. He fitted it himself.
