Kapex 120 REB issue

Hello everyone,

I have a new (3mos) Kapex which twice now has continued to run after releasing the trigger.  The first time it ran briefly and I toggled the trigger to get it to stop.  The second time it would have run indefinitely and I contemplated having to unplug the saw to stop the motor.  It took several togglings of the trigger to finally stop it.

While it is under warranty, I’d rather not be without the saw nor deal with the hassle of packaging it for shipping it in.  Has anyone else had this issue and if so, what was the cause.  The switch seems an obvious choice but perhaps there are other options?

Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

Hi James, we're currently having the same issue - no ability to toggle the trigger on ours, though; it went from shutting off as normal to starting up the second the cord is plugged in and only turning off when the cord is unplugged. Ours is still under warranty, too - we've had it about 18 months.

Did you get this resolved?

I didn't see the OP's post until now.

It's a no-brainer to me that if something goes wrong that affects functions that is still under warranty (think a brand new car in use for just 3 months, or an expensive miter saw like the Kapex), the best course of action is to let the dealer/manufacturer deal with it. Even if I could order the part and replace the switch myself, I wouldn't because if I screwed it up, I ran the risk of the warranty getting voided. When I buy a tool, I also pay for the warranty.

Of course, that's just me because I am not very good at disassembling and fixing things. But I'd take the chance and try to fix my Kapex because it's way past the warranty period.

I 100% agree! Mostly I was just curious if the OP had an update on what had caused the problem.
