Kapex 120 right fence can't be on when doing a 45degree bevel cut as it fowls the rail. Im perplexed as to why the fence isn't notched like the right hand side and Festools response is to simply remove it. This seems an oversight that's being ignored and not the attitude i'd expect from a company building a reputation on thoughtful design.

It's the same on many saws.  If you're cutting something small and on a 90 you will find it quite handy to have the back support. If you need to do bevels you move it out of the way. So it's actually well thought out.

I find it interesting the replies are simply take it totally off and thought well thought out.
You don't need to fully remove the right hand side to do the same cut merely slide it out and still have further support. If it was notched a touch more than the right hand side it would work. This isn't thought out at all more like an oversight to me.

Hey Stephen,

Sorry the responses aren't coming in like you expected.  OOPs.  On my Kapex the first thing I did was remove the retaining screws and put them away somewhere.  I don't worry about the right tilt or the left tilt any more.  I just jut molding.

Peter,
Its not about getting the responses I wanted rather surprised the attitudes of acceptance. If all that carefree why spend so much of a premium ?
Festool notched a profile in the left fence so it clears and full range of movement yet left the right and hence why its required to be removed. I was very surprised for a company that has built a market leading brand on small details yet appear to have missed this.

It is what it is

The saw is setup to primarily bevel on the left side until one resets the green knob to bypass the left side lockout.
While one might agree with your statement and provide notched fences for both sides most don't appear to think it's a game changer.

My Kapex replaced an old Makita that was also primarily setup for left side bevels with a flip up left side fence to accommodate the bevel. As you can see the right side had a short fence which one could purchase a tall fence accessory, even then the additional right side fence had to be adjusted to allow for clearance.
