you can use the blade for cutting timber.
the blade is tungsten carbide tipped, so its not going to damage the blade at all.
however, the tooth angle is slightly different, therefor the workpiece(timber) will not have a perfect cut. it tends to leave lots of splinters on the cut edge
eventually you will want to change to the correct blade.
this is my own experience when i could not be bothered to change the blade or i am too busy during a rush job.
but as soon as you put on the correct blade, the cut quality is great.
