Kapex and CT and Lasers

When I plug my Kapex into my CT dust collector the lasers do not come on until the saw starts.  Is that the way its supposed to work.  I have reverted to manually turning the dust collector on which is a royal PITA.  Is there a trick to this or am i missing something here?

That's not right, the lasers should be on constantly once they are turned on.
