Kapex and Dewalt mitre saw stand

So I received a dewalt mitre saw stand today - DWX724.  Nice stand and exactly what I want compact and light.

My question is that I went to put the Kapex on the stand and the bolts provided do not work and the slots for mounting the Kapex to the brackets is too short for the span of the mounting holes.

Has anyone come up with a mounting solution for this?  I was thinking to put a piece of plywood in between the two as an interface mount but seeing if there are any better ideas!

Thanks for the suggestions!

I used the plywood method for  awhile. I think someone posted a way to bolt it directly though.

Like Seth,  I had mine on the stand with bolts loosely fitted but I didn't like it. The method I finally went with was a board fitted on the stand with the saw attached to the board. I used the Kapex attachments for the extensions this allowed me to put it on the MFT as well.

What thickness of plywood did you use and what size and length did you use?

Before I had my Kapex on the FC ProFence 4 I had it bolted to the DW tool supports. The span is tight and you have to drill out the Kapex mounting holes to accept the DW tool support bolts.

I was able to put my Kapex on the Dewalt stand using the Dewalt brackets.  It has been a couple of years now, but I don't remember having any significant problems doing it.

You can get longer dewalt brackets, but in UK they're about £80.
You can go the attached plywood to the shorter brackets then bolt Kapex to that.
That's what I did before I bought the dedicated kapex stand and arms.

I used a piece of glued up maple to sit the saw on the stand. It's not fun to take off though. I bit more thought should have went into it.

It's nearly impossible to hold both catches then tip the saw to release the hold downs. I made a few hold downs of my own.

Thanks everyone for all of the great ideas.

What I decided to do was make a transition plate as some have suggested. It was easy to do and looks nice. I was worried about drilling the holes to accept the dewalt bolts in case I ever go to a festool stand.

Thanks again everyone, the fog comes through again [big grin]

I'm not sure what I did different but I have my kapex mounted to the dewalt stand and use the best fence system.

Here's the same approach, just mounting it to a Milwaukee stand instead. I used 1/2" ply to keep the weight down for those few times when I need to relocate the saw outside.
