I have a new Kapex and an old discontinued Delta DW 730 base which is quite sturdy.  I have  used the base with a Hitachi dual arm cutoff  saw for ten years.  I need a good mount for the Kapex as well as wooden extensions  (wings ) for both sides.  Does anyone have experience with this sort of a base for the Kapex.  It will not need to be portable.  Any help would be appreciated.

I'd say .... "Welcome to the forum" but you have been a member for a while.

Oh , well, OK, Welcome to the forum!  [smile]

    Delta or DeWalt?

If DeWalt .. yes it will work. I had my Kapex on that stand for a while, and I know others have posted about using the same stand. A forum search for 'Dewalt stand Kapex' will get you quite a few results.

My brother uses this configuration. He made a new top out of MDF that was a little larger. It works very well. The DW730 was a great accessory in its day (late 90's, I believe). I had the main unit + (2) 7' extensions for a total of something like 21'. They have put out several newer versions of this stand that were decent. The most recent seems to be the best since the DW730. The China effect continues to sting the American tool makers. Cheaper is cheaper and is never better or faster.

I use the DW730 stand for my Kapex.  It works great for me.  What are you wanting to know?

Do you have any drawings or pictures of your kapex w/DW730 stand?

Here you go. This is the only picture I have of it. Don't have the set up anymore to give details. I attached it to a piece of plywood then attached the plywood to the brackets. I don't remember exactly why.

You don't need plywood to mount the Kapex to the Dewalt stand.
