Hi  I have been enjoying my Kapex for a month or so now.  Cutting a lot of MDF.  The blade gaurd has become sticky when the head is returned to the resting position.  I have used compressed air near the arbor with no results.  Any ideas??  I dont want to take it apart just yet.

Thanks guys.  I performed the necessary cleanup and all is good!  Being new to the Festool world I cant tell you how much I appreciate the positive information.

Mine is doing the same thing and the blow tip isn't helping.  It's my own fault I suppose.  I cut like 300 pcs of door sticking for columns and wainscot and my Kapex/Midi kept popping the breaker where I was working.  My solution was turn off the vac.  The material was really small and the vac wasn't an absolute necessity.  Only problem was I didn't disconnect the hose from the saw.  This just filled the guard/mechanism full of powder.  Guess I will be breaking it down today.  I may try my aerosol Paslode gun cleaner first but want to make sure it doesn't affect the clear plastic guard.

Test a small spot first.  Also I have found that regular isopropyl alcohol is a very handy cleaner that won't harm most things and dries fast. Great for removing oil and grease too.
